WOW! Blizzard botches servers for 2 straight days!?

The great unstoppable juggernaut that is World of Warcraft has apparently come to a screeching halt. At least temporarily anyway. For two straight days the servers have been mostly down and the number of frustrated players is growing exponentially. The timing of this couldn’t be worse since they just released their 3.3 patch with new Lich King content and game changes.

Presumably the downloading of the patch all at one time is what has caused this but they’ve patched previously many times without having this level of disaster so that sounds like a bunch of PR smoke and mirrors

One thing that is for certain is the fact that there are many angry paying customers and dare I say WoW addicts out there threatening to pull the plug on their accounts. While they are barking loudly now, the vast majority will go back to their day to day WoW lives once things normalize I am sure. Blizzard, however, will get to keep this bit of egg on their face for quite some time. Not the kind of thing to be doing in this progressively more competitive MMO market.
