New Gameplay Footage for The Old Republic
Multi-player combat in Star Wars: The Old Republic
The rumored gameplay trailer that was shown behind closed doors at E3 2010 has finally been released for public consumption by LucasArts. Check out the video and you’ll see a clear picture of game play in this Star Wars based MMO, keep in mind that it is still beta and isn’t due for release until Q2 2011 so there should be improvements graphically, not that it needs them from this video though.
One thing that is odd abotu this MMO title is that there are really only 4 classes in the traditional sense per “side” the Republic and the Sith each have 4 core classes, each being counterparts of the other side’s 4 classes basically. You have your traditional holy 4 of traditional MMO titles out there; The Tank, the Healer, the controller or secondary tank for dealing with the extra bad guys and the DPS class. It stands to reason that future content expansion would have additional classes or the game itself may get a bit dull overall based on the limited selection of character class options.
