DC Universe Confirmed for November 2010
DC Comic Book Fans rejoice! SOE confirmed that part of their 2010 release plans includes the super hero themed MMO based on the DC comic book universe. SOE states that DC Universe Online will be available for the PC as well as the PlayStation 3 this coming November.
When asked about beta testing and beta test periods an SOE representative touched on their beta-testing plans for this MMO. Exact dates are not yet known but there will definitely be a large scale beta test prior to launch on both PC and PS3 platforms.
SOE has been in development of this MMO together with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, owner of the DC Universe empire, for quite some time now. The game promises to let players create their very own personalized crime fighter or even play a customized villain. This is a change from the current popular favorite Champions Online who only allows players to play the heroes. Expect to see such iconic DC Universe locations such as Metropolis of Superman Fame and of course Gotham City, Batman’s personal stomping grounds. Much like you see in Star Wars Galaxies, DC Universe will put players in positions where they interact with the mainstream DC Universe heroes during quests and events although you will not eb able to play any of the known characters.. sorry folks, no “team superman for the win” allowed.
