A loud and overly opinionated pushy necro friend of mien has decided to take the long walk out of Telon. He has however chosen to follow in the steps of the few and give something back to the community and in this case something which many will likely appreciate. Dagada of Seradon has submitted the following information to us for use as a guide for all the community. Ever wanted strat info on overland or APW raid mobs? look no further.. here are Dagada's "how to" notes on killing many of those very same Raid Mobs! He compiled this list together with Eris and Lusain. Thanks to all of you for sharing!

Disclaimer from the horses mouth (aka Dagada): "Remember these guides were built around a guild who had 0 melee dps so for the most part. The strats might seem weird or different. because we didn't have 5 rog+monks who could do 4-9k dps with bugged stacking issues and what not to every mob."

"well quite a few of us are leaving for various reason and we dont see much potential in this game for a while we may come back in 3-6months and see if anything has been improved or what not but thats the future and not the now.

so a few of us namely eris lusain and myself wanted to elave behind something that might be useful to people and amusing to other's it's not complete it's not 100% accurate some guilds will have to tackle things diffrently and other do. but for the msot part here is a general guideline for every raid mob we've killed to date have fun slacker and go kill some s#!t

OVERLAND

JAGUND-
-Have every raid member levitated to manage the knockback
-Jagund hits you with two seperate debuffs — one cannot be cured (it appears in your buff bar) and the other one can be cured (its a curse). Don't waste too much time curing these curses…both debuffs increase your recast timers.
-If you die… release and run back! OMG
-Jagund is healed by Cold Damage.
-Jagund spawns lobster adds in pairs. They seem to be random — and often don't spawn as often (if at all) on a second pull, should you accidentally wipe on the first attempt…somehow.
-Lobsters put up a curse which stuns you for 2 minutes. Can be curse-cured. This stun is a point-blank AE, so keep healers away from the lobster spawns.

PRIME WARDEN –
-To spawn the Prime Warden, slay all three Wardens above Nusibe within 2 minutes.
-Beat the third warden down to 10%, leave one tank and two healers and have a second tank engage the first warden. Make both die at the same time, and then pull the third and BURN. Use two tanks on the third so that if one gets stunned the other can hold aggro. This allows your raid to BURN.
-1st Warden has a nasty damage shield which goes up randomly — all melee classes must stay on their toes to not die to this shield.
-Each of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd warden stun the tank for 10 seconds at a time quite frequently and early in fights, so tanks must work hard to build aggro and the rest of the raid must take it easy on DPS early.
-Cold damage heals wardens
-Each warden has a curse, 1 of which reduces mana pool by 2k and 1 which drains mana slowly.
Prime Warden himself –
-Pull within 1 minute of him spawning, or he'll depop. The add near him can be mezzed, kited or killed
- Prime Warden has a quick stun AE which frequently interrupts casting (AE) and breaks all crit chains
-PW hits with a random single target dot/mana drain called Enfeebling Barb
-Watch for Rending Claw – single target debuff that drops tank's mit by 20% for 20 seconds (similar to x99)
-Casters/Healers are recommended to stay at max distance
-Keep Prime Warden facing your raid, he has a nasty rear-arc AE

APW
General Vicus –
- Vicus mana drains,…. you MUST be at max distance IF YOU WISH TO KEEP MANA! Seperate DPS and Healers into two seperate places so that if a DPS does pull aggro, it doesn't mana drain your healer team.
- Adds spawn in pairs — be ready with 4 mezzers. Assign each an add (first wave, left mob, first wave right mob, second wave left mob, second wave right mob).
-Vicus puts "Rallying Cry" on himself which increases incoming damage by 500%. Medium burn through the first Rallying Cry, and on the second have all raid members pop Quickening Jolt and BURN. Once you have enough DPS and understanding, this can be done in one Rallying Cry (but 2 is much safer, as the risk of having DPS pull aggro is much lower).
-Vicus puts up an enchantment which can be dispelled, which causes his damage to lifetap. Have dispellers dispel it.
-Watch out for Blade Barrier — it sounds like a damage shield but it is, in fact, an AE.

Siliusaurus –
- His curse WILL hit you. its 25% energy and endurance costs, 25% cast times, and 25% to refresh timers. Use a bard with refresh-timer reduction and mana regen in your healer group to combat this
-He can insta-kill a tank (14k + hit) occasionally.
-Damage Shield at 40% and randomly thereafter. The shield can be pushed. Melee DPS must be careful to avoid the damage shield, especially when using melee-based AE attacks on adds (as it will cause the DS to hit you).
-Buffer healers between Sili with your DPS classes to minimize aggro from adds (as they can interrupt or slow your heals)
-Those with strong AEs use them to kill adds, the rest should continue DPSing Sili
- physical heals him, spiritual rapes him.
-Necro lifetaps are unusually effective vs Silisaurus

Athriss Essal –
-10min timer to kill her, or everyone goes boom!
-Athriss' target is misleading. The MT will continue to take hits even though his or her name isn't displayed. The name displayed is actually SECOND on the hate list, and that person will be randomly summoned.
-SILENCES !! (20m range), short duration. Casts often.
-Athriss summons adds. You'll see 1, 2, or 3 Energy Essence. Have offtanks pick them up and the raid shift focus (use a Main Assist) to burn them. When they die, they will become Nullifying Essences. Both types of adds use arcane damage that take energy and HP equally
- PSI's CHARM REQUIRED omg! NULLIFYING essences need to be charmed and used against Athriss to debuff her mitigation buff and damage shield. Psi will have to actively click their pet's abilities to debuff Athriss.
-When a Nullifying Essence spawns, and 1 is already PSI-charmed, have a bard target the nullifying and begin casting charm. This will despawn Nullifying Essences (I have no idea why, but it does).
-In between Energy Essences, we use Imperil, Hamstring, Blindside and instruct the raid to stay on Athriss until those forced crits fade before engaging the next wave of Energies. This helps keep Athriss dying at a steady clip, as it is a timed fight.

Vahsren the Librarian –
-Frontal AE mana drain — keep mob turned away from the raid at all times.
-Every 20%, Vahsren puts up a big Damage Shield (2700 damage). He also spawns two books: Primer and Codex.
-Have a tank grab the codex and build aggro. Have another tank grab the Primer. Have the raid burn the primer down. Most of the time, killing the primer removes Vahsren's Damage Shield.
-Once the DS is down, re-engage and burn Vahsren another 20%. Rinse repeat. Don't kill Codex, just offtank it. Its a wuss.
-Special note:
If the DS doesn't go down after killing a primer, occasionally the primer will repop. Kill primer again. OR if primer doesn't repop, and the DS is still up, burn the Codex down. This will repop both books. Now kill the Primer again, and offtank the Codex again. You may repeat this process until the damage shield is down.
Alternatively, you can choose to very slowly burn through 20% of Vahsren with caster damage. If you do this, keep in mind that your tank can not generate much aggro while the DS is up, so have casters de-aggro heavily during this time.
-Arcane hits Vahsren VERY VERY hard. Since tanks can't build aggro while the DS is up, arcane casters must be very careful to manage aggro.

Shylosia –
-10 minutes after you pull her, you die. Kill her first.
- Location, location, location. Keep each member of your raid 3 meters from each other member of your raid. We position our raid force underneath the chain-link bridge in the adjacent room, with Shylo in the gap in the bridge.
- Hotkeys, hotkeys, hotkeys! Have every member add the line:
/cancelbuff "Burning Sycophants"
verbatim into every macro.
- When a SPAWN appears, have raid engage SPAWN and burn until it dies.
- When there are no spawns, have those with strong AEs use them to clean up Spawnlings.
-Spawnlings have a knockback+root, so don't get your tank and healers knocked out of range (find a way to stay "in place", such as under the bridge).
- Physical heals Shylosia.

Palpenipe –
- Mortewalon and Palpenipe have a frontal AE, so fight them such that each is aimed away from your raid.
- Tremeeli has a knockback, so that tank should fight in a corner to anchor himself
- Mortewalon has a frontal Flame AE, keep only the tank in front of him
- Have your MT on Palp slowly building aggro, but not doing too much damage. After a certain amount of damage has been dealt, you'll see Palp say something, which means within 1 minute he will begin his "thing"
-Palp's "thing" is to memwipe&stun his target. We use a three-tank cycle, with the help of monks&rogues and their +hate ability to begin building hate on the next tank in the cycle.

Zaraax –
-Location is relevant to this fight. From the Storehouse riftway, we move right and stay right. You will see a lone Repair Skeleton standing beside a Cartheon Destroyer … fight those where they stand, and then fight Zaraax in that doorway there. Clear the 4 wandering mobs behind you, so you don't accidentally get them during the fight.
- Have 1-2 adds charmed (use bards, they are durable) and have the adds attack the other adds — charmed skeles do great dps to other repair skeles
- Have a specific tank engage each Repair Skeleton one by one, so that he receives "initial aggro" — nobody should be using AEs (or they'll get initial aggro on all 5 adds)
-Use a Main Assist and have the raid burn down the skeletons. All 5 must die within 60 seconds or they will turn into Angry Repair Skeletons and begin causing problems.
-Stay out from under fixtures/furniture as those areas mostly contain traps

Archon Travix –
- NEED TO CURE "THE" CURSE (necro is best suited for the job). Un-cured, the curse will slay you after 30 seconds.
-Bard poison cures are nice to prevent the AE damage
-If you die, you spawn an add. Don't die.
-Physical damage heals Travix.

Vercel –
- Vercel dispels levitate frequently. Bards re-casting Levi when it is dispelled is crucial.
-Vercel hits the raid with Gravity Flux every 20 or so seconds. He also hits the tank with a barrage of knockbacks every so often. Tank must anchor hismelf in the corner so to prevent Vercel from resetting or knocking the tank out of range.
-Debuff: 60% mana cost increase on all spells (bard song and high-elf racial ftw)
-At 50% and randomly thereafter, Vercel puts up a damage shield. It can be pushed. If you get hit by Vercel, and you aren't the MT, stop attacking! It's probably the damage shield (or you suck and pulled aggro. Either way, stop attacking).

Dread Lord –
-He dies in 6 minutes or your raid dies when he gets to DC5.
-Malazath puts up several different stances and enchantments. Have pushers and dispellers aware and alert to remove them.
-NO ATTACKS/SPELLS DURING HIS "FELL AURA" – you will get a warning that he is preparing it, and then more text when it happens. Hitting Malazath during Fell Aura will very quickly max his DC and your raid will die.
-MT must watch for when Malazath says something about "Wrack and Ruin" — get a curse cure! You could get oneshotted by Wrack+Ruin if you don't have the curse cured quickly.

Senator Demetrius –
-Spiritual damage heals Demetrius
-Damage spells aren't very effective vs Senator (once Stolen Vitae I is up, which is early in the fight).
-When you strike an add with melee damage, you get cursed. The curse reduces incoming healing effectiveness to 10% of normal.
-Casters should kill adds while melee kill Demetrius. The fight is harder the longer it goes — Vitae will increase as the fight goes on, causing Demetrius to deal more and more damage.
- Blood Rain is a frontal AE which goes off roughly every 15 seconds. You get an arm-waving, red-particle animation to warn you it's coming. This is the only significant source of damage the tank will take in this fight. When healers see the animation, they should spam heal for a few seconds. Otherwise a single healer can maintain healing on a tank until Vitae reaches 6-7 … or higher depending on the tank.

Admiral Chicklets –
- RAIDWIDE MEZ similar to APW Key-Quest mob
-Chicklets hits your raid with a random single target 1min mez. We had our tanks make ROPE hotkeys, and if you got 1-minute mezzed we would rope you to the front, you'd get hit, and awaken.
-Chrykalis puts up a stance which gives him a 60% chance to RIPOSTE. Our understanding of RIPOSTE is as follows: When striking Chrykalis you have a 60% chance of becoming his "new best friend" (re: target) for several seconds. If you trigger Riposte while standing with the healers/casters/other melee, you will cause the mob to turn and DEMOLISH YOUR RAID. To combat this, we DPS'd as a raid for roughly 15 seconds, then stopped, waited for his RIPOSTE buff to come up, and then re-engaged once it was pushed off.
-Watch for his enchantment and have it dispelled ASAP.
- Chicklets casts a significant de-aggro on his target (the tanks, hopefully) during the fight, so we used two tanks. Healers are at risk of pulling aggro, so we set up healing as follows: Two healers per tank. When your tank isn't getting hit, stop healing. When your tank receives damage, hit Panacea immediately and begin healing. This really helps to mitigate aggro problems by giving healers a break for roughly half of each fight.

Shiver –
-Spread four mezzers around the outside of the room, each with an assigned mob to mez. We used a DK to mez one, and then had that DK function as our offtank (starting on his mob).
-Healers should position themselves such that they cannot cast spells on shiver (no line of sight) but can cast heals on the MT.
-At 83%, 63%, 43% and 23%, call ALL DPS off shiver (besides MT)
-Have your offtank engage an add. Shield the MT from the add's AE by using one of the pillars. Beat the add down to 40%. Stop DPS!
-Bring Shiver to 80 (or 60, 40, 20). Everybody hides behind pillars (Healers are already hiding).
-Shaman uses Panacea on MT as the freeze is casting. After the freeze lands, the damaged add is immediately brought to the MT and burned. At 30%, it will explode (melting the tank). At the same moment the mob is brought to the MT, have a paladin (or whoever) shield the MT with a group invuln.
-Ensure nobody but the MT gets hit by the freeze every 20% by hiding behind the pillars.
-First hit on main tank is a biggie! (11-13k ouchies).

X99 –
-8 minute timed fight
-Exalted x99 will AE every 2 minutes.
-Tank will be 20% mit debuffed every minute. DK has a 60sec 25% damage rune that lasts most of the 20second debuff. Use it! Also increase spam healing to compensate.
-X99 casts Reverse Polarity on tanks. Once its up, the MT no longer generates hate. From 80-50 you are at the largest risk of losing this fight due to your second tank pulling aggro early.
-Tank swap at 50% (exactly the same memwipe as X77). This tank swap is critical, as the second tank will not have been hit by Reverse Polarity (yet).
-BURN FIGHT! Use de-aggros heavily from 80 to 50 and then go crazy (as the second tank will have had the entire fight to build aggro).

Shortcuts:
Shortcut to X99/Core: Start in shiver room. Have one person who knows the way leave the raid. Everybody needs runspeed and HP buffs. Have a druid hit the lone person with tranquility. That person leads the way (watch the vents on the floor! They will kill everybody). Everyone runs through X99's door into the safe hall, leashing all the mobs. Done correctly, you will have very few, or no, casualities. The key is having the person OUTSIDE THE RAID.

Shortcut to Vercel: Use the sewers into marina wing, to the far end and run up the right tunnel. You will lead to a ledge, above aggro mobs, in marina wing. Similar to X99 run, have 1 person outside the raid. Be sure to aggro every mob in the way and have the raid follow. Run down, to the right, and then to the left is the elevator. Everyone go up the elevator, leashing the mobs (some people die if the elevator timing sucks, but it still saves an hour of clearing).

Shortcut to Palpenipe/Athriss/DLM/Chiclets/Senator:
There is a room between Palp and Athriss. That room is a "summon" area, you can call using regular (non-COTW) calls there. Around the room are light fixtures which you can stand on. We used Broomsticks (from the halloween event) to park a healer-alt on the light fixture. From here, an entire raid can be summoned in a matter of seconds…saving the 1-2 hour library clear. Alternatively, without broomsticks, I still believe you could have a person tossed over the wall in the above room by one of the two book-keeper mobs, a part of the librarian event, and then levitate down to a fixture (though I've never needed to try, as someone came up with the broomstick idea first).

***

DAGADA of SERADON"

– This is a work in progress so if you have information on another mob or additional strat info you'd like to add please add your comments and we will update the guide accordingly. Thanks!

Purpose: The purpose of this guide is to educate people on the different components to spells.

Disclaimer: I am not an expert on this stuff. The reason I started this post was to educate myself on all of the spell components of my character. Unfortunately, the more I read, the more questions I had. I soon learned that there is no one “expert” on Vanguard spell components. We have gone through a couple companies, many devs, and quite a few code monkies since it all started and the result is a system that was not clearly defined.

Luckily, there are some people who have taken the time to test, ask questions, and bug devs. Most of what I have written here was taken from other sites, such as Graffe’s, Silky Venom, and VGnecro.com. I want to give special thanks to Illusive, Code2501, Acebreus and EmiliaSEB.

1. Basic
For caster classes in Vanguard, the two primary spell components are INT and WIS. The importance of each varies by class.

Intelligence (INT) – This stat affects how much damage your spell will do. It also affects your ability to counter a spell of your opponent as well as your opponent’s ability to counter your spell.

Wisdom (WIS) - This stat affects how much energy you have to cast spells, and the chance they have to do more damage by being critical hits (crit). It also affects your ability to counter a spell of your opponent as well as your opponent’s ability to counter your spell.

Vitality (VIT) – This stat primarily determines energy and health regeneration rates (regen).

Constitution (CON) – This stat primarily determines your number of hit points and your resistances to incoming damage (resists).

Evo, Conj, Abj
These skills appear on various items, but based on Developer posts have no real affect beyond your level cap. Avoid wasting any points on these, the most you will ever need is 10.

2. Intermediate
Int > Wis > Vit > Other
This is supported by the DPS returns of each stat on a point by point basis, and the subsequent requirements on Energy to maintain that DPS.

WIS – Wisdom caps out at 900 points (18 X your level), meaning you cannot have anymore than 900. At the cap you will get 20% additional chance to have a critical hit. You can also have XXXX energy (what’s the formula for energy?). At level 50, 45 WIS is = 1% crit chance. 1 WIS is = XX energy.

It is important to understand that on an item 1 Wis cost the same amount of an items stat bugdet as 8 Energy, however for us Arcane casters 1 Wis = 15 Energy + a miniscule crit chance boost. Wisdom is always better on an item than straight energy.

so WIS > Energy

INT – Intelligence caps out at 900 points (18 X your level). At the cap you will do 160.3% damage. The actual formula for this is listed in the advanced section. This is reflected immediately in the Tooltip for any spell.

Critical Spell Hit Rating - According to Cylus (who looked at the code and had another dev look at the code, there is NO cap to % chance you have to hit (that he could find).

30% crit chance and you should hit about 1 in 3 times. EmiliaSEB says, "Well as someone that went up to 43% Critic and did a few tests i ended up with : 45.5% 41% 38.2% for a global 41.65% in 500 casts (seems to be working fine)." In a long test, 43% Critic, 8 Critics in a row, 9 Critic in 10 Cast, so 50% getting 1 in 2 will probably be right after a thousand casts or so."

Additionally, although we should be hitting 100% crits on lower level mobs, this does not happen so there are some sort of unknown caps or modifiers there. 37 points = 1% at lvl 50.

Critical Spell Damage Amount – When you crit it does ABOUT 50% more damage. Now there are many different factors (I do not know them all), but this is the baseline. Cylus said that the crit cap bonus (additional crit damage) for mobs lower than your level is 10% (1% per level difference up to 10%).

In reference to Critical Spell hits;
* Crit does exactly +50% modified dmg
* Epic crit does exactly +200% modified dmg
* Legendary crit does +500% modified dmg (some report a range of up to 2000%?)

For example you have a dd that does is described as doing 1k dmg.
If you crit you'll get an extra 500 dmg or 1500. If you have a dmg modifier via int and/or sdr, say +50% total you will do 1500 dmg w/out a crit. If you crit with that modifier you'll do 750 extra dmg or 2250

Spell Damage Focus (SDF) – You may wear items that have SDF, but the cap is 500 (10X the max level of 50). At 500 you will max out at 20% ADDITIONAL damage.

Spell Damage Rating (SDR) – Some items will add additional spell damage. This percentage will add on the 160% from max INT and 20% from max SDF. 37 points = 1% at lvl 50. There is no known cap, and gear with this stat is not widespread.

(needs confirmation) Some items have a continental style of +8 of X, or +8 of Y. These stats are added to the base damage of the spell, so they will be further modified by INT, SDF, WIS and SDR.

Spell Accuracy – Cylus says accuracy contributes to your “to hit” roll; that is, if you have an item with +4% accuracy, you’re gaining “4” on a roll out of 100. Here is the chart on your chance to hit:

6 = 57 base roll out of 100
5 = 68 base roll out of 100
4 = 77 base roll out of 100
3 = 85 base roll out of 100
2 = 90 base roll out of 100
1 = 93 base roll out of 100
Equal level = 94 base roll out of 100

So, at level 50 you will have an 85% chance to hit the lvl53 healer/caster. Light/heavy fighters are less resistant to spells and should hit more. This means that for raiding in APW (where the mobs are lvl 53, you would need +15% accuracy to hit 95% of the time (max cap at 95%). 37 points = 1% at lvl 50.

It is possible to reach 100% accuracy if you have enough + accuracy gear. The cap from SKILLS is supposed to be 95% base chance, but from Cylus’ testing it showed about 94% chance base vs even level opponent.

Spell Haste – This is how much faster you may cast. For example, if you have 10% worth of haste gear a spell that would normally take 10 seconds to cast would only take 9 seconds. Or a spell that normally takes 2 seconds would only take 1.8 seconds. The cap is 30% from buffs and 20% from gear (50% max). Spell haste removes from the cast time of the spell, not the refresh of it afterwards

Spell Attack Rating (SAR) – This shows up on your character sheet if you use a custom interface like Core or Drox. I do not know what it means.

The table below shows the number of points needed on an item to get 1% (at level 50),

40 18.56
41 19.89
42 21.31
43 22.83
44 24.46
45 26.21
46 28.08
47 30.08
48 32.23
49 34.53
50 37.00
51 39.64
52 42.47
53 45.51
54 48.76
55 52.24
56 55.97
57 59.97
58 64.26
59 68.84

In conclusion, there is much that goes into understanding what exactly our spells do and how the various factors impact our spell performance basiically. This is a work in progress so I will update it as needed when more information becomes known.

So, you’re wondering how a poor Nec can afford the 10g for the pimp shadowmobile? You are a nec with integrity and would never buy from a lowlife goldseller, but dang, it’s gonna take awhile with crushed organs going for 3cp a piece…Look no further my friends than this A-B-C guide to the nec lumberjack.

You will be harvesting T5 timber in no time! Fast livery? You bet! Almost from the time you start you will be able to sell what you harvest. Will you enjoy the game to the fullest? Hell ya! With a little hard earned jingle in your pocket you will be able to get that pimp ride some new tread and get the gear bling you know you deserve. So, sit back, relax, have a piece of marinated gnome steak and soak up this informative guide.

1. Getting started.

This is probably the easiest part. Go to Leth Nurae (if you aren’t kos), go to the harvest trainer (southeast Leth, before you enter city), change your training to lumberjack if you need to, grab all the lumberjack books, grab the free rusty axe and voila you’re now a lumberjack! But now what? you may say.. fear not..your first..um..trees..are just a stones throw away!

2. Don’t chop any trees!

Huh? That’s right, I said don’t chop any trees. Just a little south of Leth is a bunch of treants, evil treants; we need to rid the land of evil treants. So lets get started shall we? Give your pet some exercise and take down one of those nasty treants. Will you get bad faction? No! After pet has done his job, collect any loot that the treant may have on it and then…hold on now.. what’s this?? a little pickaxe appears over the treants corpse..hmm. Well let’s see what happens..omg you are chopping a treant. Yes friends, treants can be harvested for wood! Let all those crazy bards run their fast little butts off looking for trees to chop..we have easier prey. Keep killing and chopping till you get to 100, shouldn’t take long. Now, wasn’t that easy? Read the first book. You’re on your way!

3. Head south.

Way south. Grab your passport and the next flight to Qalia. Just a little northwest of Ahgram is a little place called The Tiberian Wildwoods filled with..you guessed it, more treants. Kill, kill, kill, until you get to 200. man this is easy ain’t it? read your second book! Hop on your mount, its time for some traveling again. This lumberjacking business is strange, a T2 lumberjack and you have yet to chop your first tree. Bah, trees..who needs em?

4.Head North.

This time yer headed to Kojan, in the northeast corner is a place called The Jin Forest, its just east of The Tomb of Lord Tsang. Lots of evil treants that need to be hacked to pieces..hehe. So hack ‘n slash ‘n chop yer way to 300. Read book and now you are the best dang T3 lumberjack that’s never chopped a tree..

So..there ya go, how to get to T3 in 4 easy lessons, now maybe you need to go find some real trees to chop J Don’t forget to upgrade your axe and harvesting clothes, it makes a huge difference in the amount of timber you get..Good luck and happy hunting!

Stillheart,
34 Nec, T5 Lumberjack, T5 Reaper

There are 2 sets available : a rare and an ultra-rare / Heroic

To get the ring to get faction raising quests you will do one of the emissary quests.

The Emissary will give you a quest that reward you with a ring. If you cant find him go loc 43k, 74k in the Ruin falls chunk – follow the road east from the altar- and then talk with Warden Mendent, he will give you a quest that points you to your chosen emissary.

Very important : note that all this part is optionnal since you do not need this quest at all for the armor. It just unlocks more quest for you to raise faction

you will need nothing else than a 45 outfitter and gold :p

Each race have his own set of recipe available when you have 10k faction from a npc for 9 silvers.
2 recipes per race :
- special recipe

Common recipes upgrade all slots but robe and pants
Rare recipes upgrade robe and pants

The crafter will make you the item you need, sell it to you and you will have to use an assembly table with the item provided by the outfitter and your own rare armor piece you previously made.
Hit combine and …. Tadaaa here is you ultra rare armor

Also note that even before you complete anything, as soon you hit 10k faction, all armor assembly recipe for that race appear in your assembly book.

Greetings my macabre brother and sister necromancers of Telon. It has come to my attention that not all necros are conniving enough to think of how best to use their evil little necro abilities and the most unique trick in the Necromancer’s arsenal escapes them. What am I babbling about this time you say? Well read on and learn.

Necromancers can mez undead… quite useful for those undead infested regions of Telon to be certain. Sadly though, it is utterly useless against the living. A shame that we can not kill everything then if they rise again mez them!! Oh wait, what about turn them into undead while they still live and then mez them! skip that whole middle kill them first step.

Well friends, now you too can do just this very trick by sending me 3 monthly payments of $ 29.99 and I will umm… oops. Guess I shouldn’t try to sell you something you already have huh.

My twisted sense of morality forbids me from charging for this so I suppose I’ll dispense with what many necros consider common knowledge, yet others have never how do you say it.. connected the dots?!

Starting at level 26 (upgrades at 34 and 44) necromancers obtain an ability called Soul Blight. This ability does the following:

“Debuffs enemy spiritual resistance by 200 for a brief time and causes the target to become an undead creature, which in turn makes them susceptible to any abilities that effect the undead.”

Now let’s re-read that last part one more time:

“…causes the target to become an undead creature, which in turn makes them susceptible to any abilities that effect the undead.”

Hrmmm… wait a Second, at level 18 and then later at 40 we get a spell called Soul Trap which states the following:

“A mez type spell for undead that prevents the target from moving, casting or attacking. Any damage done to the target after it is mez’d will break the effects of the spell. Only one target may be Trapped at once.”

Let’s focus once more on that first sentence there:

“A mez type spell for undead that prevents the target from moving,”

Great Scott! Holy Flux Capacitor! Does this mean what I think it does? Why yes it does! You CAN mez any creature under the effect of Soul Blight via your Soul Trap ability, yes I know, it’s the revelation all over again.

So there ya have it folks. How to pretend you are a mez master even when not on undead mobs. Keep in mind though that not all mobs can be mez’d.

Okay I bet that sounded fun right? But wait! There’s more!!

Let’s see now, if that Soul Blight ability will turn things into undead… is there anything we can abuse then with this? Oh yes.. indeed there is. Let’s take a quick look at Dark Rebuke , an ability we get at level 18 (upgrades at 26, 34, 42, and 50). This ability states the following:

“Spiritual energy attack which damages your target.
NOTE: This spell causes additional damage to undead.”

Woah.. what was that line again?

“NOTE: This spell causes additional damage to undead.“

So what you are saying is that I toss up Soul Blight and then I can mez things AND nuke them harder with my insta-cast Dark Rebuke DD? OMG OMG! It’s the revelation part two! Remember kids, Soul Blight is your friend.

Toss in the added benefit that paladins and clerics have some anti undead abilities and you can make for a nice group DPS boost by simply tossing on one debuff even if you do not intend to mez the target. Do make sure you let those arrogant holy rolly types know that they weren’t recently blessed with divine power and are kicking butt more because of it… let them know they owe it all to your dark evil conniving mojo! Seriously though, let them know what you are doing and train them to look for the buff, it can help quite a bit.

Oh yes, did I bother to mention that this debuff lowering the targets spiritual resistance would enhance your own spiritual based attacks? hrmm…

Enough rambling for one post. Think long on what I have said and intoxicate yourself in the glory that is necroness! err.. yeah.. I need some caffeine.

To see a thread about this neat class feature, CLICK HERE

PLEASE NOTE: There are certain problems / bugs currently with this ability. You can search for them in the Bug-O-Matic and find some in the recent top 10 Necro Issues that were sent to the devs for follow up.

Greetings fellow necromancers. I was wandering through the dark halls of our humble community when I noticed something rather annoying. At no point have we made an attempt to show what all the various pets and minions look like. While I do realize that everyone in time will know what the various pets look like, I thought it might be of value for the more novice members of our profession to be able to see what their future holds in regards to pets and minions.

For size comparison sake I have included myself in each image, NO, I am so vain to think it would be good for people to see my pointy eared head over and over.

So without further chatter I give you my guide to pets and minions:

Abomination I
This is the Abomination pet which you gain at level 4 and is summoned via the spell Awaken Abomination I . This is the least impressive looking of our Abominations.

Abomination II
This is the Abomination pet which you gain at level 30 and is summoned via the spell Awaken Abomination II . This pet is larger than the previous version of it and has more noticeable bone protrusions and has longer claws.

This is the Abomination pet which you gain at level 50 and is summoned via the spell Awaken Abomination III . This pet is larger than the previous versions of it and has much more noticeable bone protrusions and has ridiculously long claws.

This spell summons a minion that does considerable damage to your enemies. Sometimes referred to as the Zealot and is an upgraded version of the Slayer Pet. The two versions do the same thing but look noticeably different. It looks the same as the lvl 38 Servant minion.

This is the Guardian Minion which you gain at level 22 and is summoned via the spell Ritual of the Guardian . This minion is strictly a defender who taunts things off that are attacking you. They don’t take many hits so are mainly there to give you a few seconds to do something else to control a situation gone wrong. Well drat, I didn’t stand next to this pet.. sue me ;P

This minion can cast a -240 Physical Resistance debuff on your enemy that also increases Physical damage taken by 10%. his is non-combatant pet, no DPS to be gained here from it directly. This spell summons a minion that basically boosts your Health regen. This minion cast a 169 point heal on it’s master that has a 10 sec cast time. Note: The minion does not heal the abomination. This is non-combatant pet, no DPS to be gained here. It looks the same as the lvl 46 Advocate minion.

Wraith Necromancer Version:

This is the Servant Minion which you gain at level 38 and is summoned via the spell Ritual of the Servant . This spell summons a minion that basically boosts your Energy regen. This minion cast a Mana restore spell on its’ master periodically. Note: The minion does not grant the mana to the abomination, only to its’ master. This is a non-combatant pet, no DPS to be gained here. It looks the same as the lvl 46 Advocate minion.

Slayer
This is the Slayer Minion which you gain at level 26 and is summoned via the spell Ritual of the Slayer . This minion is a DPS minion that attacks your enemies with its long claws. They can not take many hits so are basically dots with graphics. The slayer is sometimes referred to as the Reaver minion.

Well there you have it. All of the Pets and Minions that we currently have as masters of the undead. While one might argue that the creatures summoned using out Ritual Animatus I and Ritual Anbimatus II spells are minions, I did not include them in this list since they look like green shaded versions of the corpse you raised and they are not peristant pets due to their very short durations.

Pet Variation – Skin of the Xakrin

There is currently one special graft in game that when given to your pet alters the Abominations appearance drastically. This graft is a skin graft aptly named Skin of the Xakrin. The image below is an abomination pet altered with this Skin (Thanks to Kuruk for supplying this one)

As an added bonus and while not exclusively a necromancer pet it is cool enough to merit mention. This is a Dark Elf Specific Pet (Racial Ability) that can only be summoned when you have no active Abomination pet out. Go Go Death Gekko!!

Greetings fellow necromancers. The folks at SOE recently posted about the in game teleporter / travel system of theirs called the Riftway Network. The information is good enough and should let anyone who reads it understand hwo to use the Riftway Network so I figured i"d plug it here for our community members to find it easily. The post went as follows:

"A forgotten power has returned to Telon. Ancient riftstones have come to life with their potent magic having been lost since the days of the Cataclysm. Channeling great energies from altars scattered across the world travelers are now able to venture forth via interlinking networks spanning all of Telon… Welcome to the Riftway!"

The Riftway is divided into three separate networks; these networks are connected through riftstones located at altars all around the world. Not all altars have active riftstones, however.

In order to use the Riftway you must have a riftway shard in your inventory, these shards can be found on any general goods vendor and are relatively inexpensive.

Once you have purchased a shard you must establish a link between at least two riftstones on the same network. In order to activate a riftstone for future use you must travel to its location and click on it. Once you have at least two riftstones active you may travel between them, each time you travel you lose one riftway shard.

When selecting a destination you will have a series of locations to choose from:

While you can see all network riftstone locations from this menu, you can only travel to the ones you have activated.

Connected to all networks are riftstones located in the cities of New Targonor, Ahgram, and Tawar Galan. These riftstones only contain enough energy for you to travel to them and can not send you to other destinations.

The three networks that make up the Riftway are divided up by the level of the content surrounding their locations

The following is a list of the three networks and the location of the riftstones:

Tired of getting your backside clawed and violated by necromancers? Wish you could find a way to beat all of those conniving evil antisocial necro players?

There is one big secret to knowing how to beat them. It's actually really simple to comprehend once it is made evident to you. But keep in mind, you are going after a player who basically is used to playing by themselves most of the time, self reliant, not waiting for heals from other party members, not used to having others CC for them during a fight, someone used to running around fighting something that would tear them apart if it could only get a little bit closer.

If there is one thing a necromancer learns it is skills for one versus one encounters. So keeping all of these facts in mind, you must admit you face a formidable opponent with many factors in their favor. So how do you beat them?

Greetings my dark brothers and sisters of the necromancer community; the air brings a new chill recently. I dare say a cold that chills you to the bone. Then again I could just say it gives us a Bone Chill… fine, fine.. Enough with the vain attempt at humor. Bone Chill… we got it! What is it?

Bone Chill is the 3rd finisher spell line that necromancers have. It is a fairly straight finisher in that all it does is damage; no debuff, no dot, no nothing fancy. This may seem a bit bland compared to the other finishers but when you consider them each for what they are then you will appreciate Bone Chill. I'll try to explain as best as this humble necromancer can manage.

First off, let's define a finisher and also the recent changes to how finishers work. A finisher is an ability that can only be used / activated under certain circumstances. In our case the finishers will only be activatable immediately after scoring a critical hit with a spell. Previously scoring a critical hit with a physical spell only allowed a physical finisher to be used and a spiritual finisher required a spiritual critical hit to activate. As of the last patch this was altered so that anytime there is a critical spell hit you can use any ONE of the finishers.

Sealed Fate is the first in our lineup of Finishers. This is a physical finisher since it causes physical damage. The damage it does is in 3 parts, a DD (direct Damage) component followed by two separate dot components which would take over 10 minutes to reach full damage capacity. This is great for a long boss type fights but not to hot for quick fights. This finisher can be used once every 3 minutes.

Next we have Shadow Feast our spiritual finisher. Again this is a spiritual finisher because it does spiritual damage. This is a DD with a debuff that steals constitution from the target and gives it to the necromancer for an hour as a buff. The buff does not stack so multiple casts wont benefit you at all other than the dd component. You definitely want to fire this off periodically to get the buff. This finisher can be used once a minute.

Lastly we have our newest finisher addition, Bone Chill. This cold Finisher does .. you guessed it, cold damage. It simply does Cold DD to the target and nothing else. The key thing here being that it has no refresh timer at all so you can use it for extra damage anytime you crit, kind of like the crit 1 – 2 combo punch. You will obviously find yourself using this new finisher much more often than you used any of the previously existing finishers before. The only reason to not use it often would be if you are fighting cold resistant critters.

Well there you have it, Finisher 101. Feel free to leave any comments or corrections if you believe that I am mistaken in anything.
